Sending HTML Newsletters from Thunderbird
24 September 08 - Back
I use a mac and so for my E-mail I use Apple’s standard E-mail program. I wanted to send an HTML E-mail. This is something I’ve never done before. I read about it before. I read many blogs and articles on how HTML Newsletters should be avoided. Nevertheless, I thought this is something I need to know of. I quickly found out that HTML E-mails cannot be sent with Apple’s E-mail program. I looked up one that did. I found Mozilla Thunderbird.
I thought I would write this quick Blog post because I spent a long time searching google and Thunderbird help files on how to send HTML files. Half an hour later I found my Answer thanks to an article on the www.york.ac.uk website.
Open a new message
Enter your recipients
Enter a subject line
In the body, go to the Insert menu, and select HTML
Using a text editor such as Notepad, open the HTML email you wish to send
Select the entire message (Ctrl+A)
Go back to Thunderbird
Paste (Ctrl+V) into the “Insert HTML” box
Click Insert
Click Send
A dialog box will appear asking which format to send the message in – select Send in Plain Text and HTML
Below are a few other useful links on the matter of sending HTML E-mails that I found.

Thank you very much
